Haley Duren is the Executive Chef at Cadence, where she brings a bold and contemporary perspective to plant-based Southern cuisine. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Haley earned her Associate Degree in Advanced Baking & Pastry from Central New Mexico Community College before moving to New York City to pursue her culinary career. With nearly a decade of experience in the industry and over five years focused on plant-based cooking, she has gained a comprehensive understanding of restaurant operations by working in every role, from front-of-house to the kitchen line.
Since taking the helm at Cadence, Haley has developed standout dishes such as the Lobster Mushroom Boil, Green Chile Mac, and Nashville Hot Sandwich—offerings that reflect her Southwestern roots while honoring the restaurant’s soulful Southern foundation. Her leadership and creative approach continue to strengthen Cadence’s reputation as one of New York’s most acclaimed plant-based dining destinations.
Based in Brooklyn, Haley also explores her creative side as a DJ and enjoys time with her dog, Kirby.
